Book 34: Parachutes: Floating and Falling in Air
Synopsis
This book introduces children to the concepts of floating in and falling through air. It offers a variety of opportunities for them to carry out fair tests in situations that they will find fun yet challenging.
The topic links strongly to concepts of floating and sinking in water. Water is a medium that children can see, so it may pay to revisit the concepts covered in these books before moving on to the invisible, largely intangible, and therefore more abstract, medium of air.
