Book 8: The Moon: Orbits, Appearances, and Effects

Levels: 3-4
Contextual strands: Planet Earth and beyond icon. Planet Earth and beyond

Synopsis

The Moon is a prominent object in near space with all the mystery and "unknownness" that many people attach to things outside their full sensory experience. In addition, the relationship between the Earth, the Moon, and the Sun causes regular effects on Earth (for example, tides) that are physical phenomena easily observed by students and that form part of their everyday lives.
