Levels: 1-4
Contextual strands: Living world icon. Living world

Synopsis

Slugs and snails were chosen as the topic for this book because the garden variety are familiar to most children. Some slugs and snails also live in the sea, in fresh water, and in areas of native bush. By learning about these, children can enhance their understanding of the diversity and range of species. As garden dwellers, slugs and snails are often considered to be pests, yet they play an important role in the environmental food chain.
