Synopsis

In this book, we have chosen to give the topic of keeping warm a focus on warm-blooded animals in order to provide a familiar and personalised context in which young children can investigate how animals, including people, maintain their body temperature. In Keeping Warm, we introduce the following concepts:

  • Heat is a form of energy.
  • Heat energy is converted from other types of energy, including the energy that is provided by the food that we eat.
  • Heat energy flows from warmer to cooler areas.
